1898 Original photo of Teddy Roosevelt and an unknown bugler walking down a road, with TR leading his walking horse behind him. This appears to be taken during the Spanish-American war, with the famous Rough Riders spread out behind him in the background. The photo is matted, and measures 4.75"x3.75", and has the sepia tones of age, although still quite clear. There is a small stain above the future president obscuring a tree. The 10-week war with Spain over Cuban independence was spurred by economics (on both sides) and the sudden sinking of the US battleship Maine in Havana harbor. It was here Roosevelt and his 1ST US Volunteer Cavalry were recognized for the bravery assaulting the Spanish on the San Juan hills. - HKA#65268
