<B>Thelonius Monk Signed Contract.</B></I> Thelonius Monk (1917-1982), one of the founders of "Bebop," was a musical pioneer who, among other recognitions, made the cover of <I>Time</B></I> February 28, 1964. This American Federation of Musicians contract dated November 11, 1956, engages Monk to perform at the Blue Note in Philadelphia, signed by Monk in blue ink in the lower right-hand corner. Also included is a b&w 8" x 10" of Monk performing.
