The ultimate in Colt collecting is obtaining a serial number 1 in virtually any pre-war model. Serial number 1 Texas Patterson was the 1st Colt pistol we know to break the $1,000,000 mark in the mid-1990s. Serialnumber 1 Colt Single Action Army recently changed hands in nearly the same range. We are proud to offer for sale serial number 1 Colt Woodsman Model semi-automatic pistol pictured in the “Book Of Colt Firearms” bySutherland and Wilson on page number 457. Wilson mentions the placement of the serial number which is directly under the guard and farther up the strap then normal. This Colt remains in very good plus to near fineoriginal condition with 85% to 95% original mirror bright blue finish with some minor scratches and slight wear at the edges probably from handling and testing. The grips are very good with slight edge wear also.The interior is also very good showing some use wear and was probably used as a test gun by John M. Browning and the factory. A very interesting and unusual unmarked clip is included with a blued bottom and engine
