Preston, Pres., Goodyear Aero Club, on Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. letterhead, Dec. 23, 1913, 3 pp., describing history of the Club. "...The Goodyear, always having been interested vitally in aeronautics, constructed in the Spring of 1912 an 80,000 cu. ft. Spherical Racing balloon and entered it in the 1912 National Elimination Race out of Kansas City...It was during these series of flights that these young men received the training which made it possible for them to bring the Gordon-Bennett Cup to America this fall...." "Confidential Bulletin," Goodyear Aero Dept., Aug. 17, 1918, "Theory of Ballooning" by Griffith Brewer, 4 pp., crayon signature with initials of "R.H.U., Aero Engineer"; R.H. Upson was Secretary of the Aero Club. "The following commentary...was originally in the form of a letter addressed to the Navy Department...." Drawing attention to inaccuracies "in universal belief among practical balloonists...." Purple rexograph considerably faded but legible.
