The hardbound version from 1905 - P.F. Collier & Son. edited by Arthur Brooks Lapsley with an introduction by Theodore Roosevelt. This 6 books of an eight-volume set is an incredible and fascinating history of Lincoln throughout his life. The books are in average to good condition; the spines are wearing and some have separated from the binding but no pages falling out. The outside leather is wearing away - you can see that in the pictures. They are now protected with clear plastic - that is how I bought them from an antique dealer many years ago. The pages are clear and easily readable with minor yellowing. There are no dust jackets as issued. See the photographs. This set is very interesting and a must for any history buff, and would be an excellant addition to any library. The books are about7" x 9" x 1-1/2" each, and the set is about 13-14 lbs.+/- with packaging. Vol 1 - 1832 to 1843 - 320 pages Vol 2 - 1843 to 1858 - 323 pages Vol 3 - missing Vol 4 - The Lincoln-Douglas Debates II - 296 pages Vol 5 - 1858 to 1862 - 471 pages Vol 6 - 1862 to 1863 - 459 pages Vol 7 - missing Vol 8 - The Life of Lincoln - 467 pages Get this version so you don't have all the re-editing of history that is going on now. - 10138-041104-EB-44893
