Extremely rare and desirable leather-bound autograph book that measures a large 7 x 5.25 and the pages are a thick mil, signed inside in ballpoint by an assortment of influential English rock bands who performed at the Stourbridge Town Hall in 1965. The book is highlighted by not one but two sets of early autographs from The Who, with Pete Townshend, Roger Daltrey, John Entwistle, and Keith Moon signing together on one album page that bears a collector's date notation of June 16, 1965; near the end of the book, the group's second set of signatures are found on adjacent pages dated to December 1, 1965, with Townshend and Moon signing one page, and Daltrey and Entwistle signing on the other.

This outstanding autograph book is meticulously assembled and is an amazing time capsule of 60’s British pop music. Along with numerous affixed promo cards, the inside of the book is also signed by the following bands and musicians: The Moody Blues, Them (with Van Morrison), Screaming Lord Sutch (with Ritchie Blackmore), The Hollies (with Graham Nash), The In-Crowd (with Steve Howe), The Spencer Davis Group (with Steve Winwood), a very early, rare set of The Small Faces (Steve Marriott, Ronnie Lane, and featuring Jimmy Winston), The Zombies, The Pretty Things, Wayne Fontana and the Mindbenders, The Swinging Blue Jeans (2), The Fortunes (with SP), The Walker Brothers, The Merseybeats (2; with SP), Dave Berry and the Cruisers (with SP), The Four Pennies (2), Unit 4 + 2 (2; with two SPs), Shelley, The Applejacks,Twinkle, Laurie Jay Combo, Stu James and the Mojos (Aynsley Dunbar), The Nashville Teens, Goldie and the Gingerbreads (Genya Ravan), The Sons of Fred (Pete Sears), Downliners Sect, The Sorrows, and others. In overall fine condition.

Accompanied by a full letter of authenticity from PSA/DNA and a provenance letter from the original recipient: "I worked at Stourbridge Town Hall from 1964 to 1967 helping out backstage and sometimes front of house. If the caretaker was not back from his meal break, I would let the groups into the building and help them set up. Fred Bannister promotions booked the top groups of the day to appear on Wednesday nights, with smaller local groups playing on Saturday nights. I met all the groups and obtained their autographs."

Autograph books filled with such a large amount of significant signatures, and backed by such excellent provenance, rarely surface at auction and are indeed a once-in-a-lifetime find. A true piece of 60s British music history of which we will never see the likes of again.
