You may have heard that I have decided to quit The Who, so your kind remarks came at a good time. Obviously this means that we are not touring in March. Congratulations on getting engaged.” In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope. At the end of 1983, Townshend declared himself unable to generate material appropriate for The Who and announced his departure from the band in December, wishing the remaining members of the band all the best if they went on without him.
