Earp; Provenance: From the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum in Tombstone, Arizona. The newspaper is authentic and includes both national and local history but importantly includes a listing for a new ordinance set forth by Virgil Earp Chief of Police at the time the ordinance reading as follows: Ordinance No. 9 "Notice is hereby given that in accordance with the provisions of Ordinance No. 9, to provide against the carrying of deadly weapons, all persons found with pistols, bowie knives or dirks upon their persons, without a permit issued by the proper authorities will be arrested and proceeded against according to the provisions of said ordinance." The condition of this Framed The Tombstone Epitaph newspaper is well preserved with some tears and browning to the pages consistent with the age of the newspaper and the frame looks well preserved.
