<B><I>The Thousand and One Nights - in three volumes</B></I></B></I> (London: C. Knight & Co., 1839 - 41), first edition as translated by Edward William Lane, volume one 618 pages, volume two 683 pages, volume three 763 pages, all volumes 8vo (6" x 9.75"), bound in brown calf with embossed gilt decoration and gilt floral decoration on the spine, gilt fore edges, marble boards, many wood-engraving illustrations throughout the text. Volumes one and two have broken front interior hinges causing the book block to move free, volume three is still intact. Volumes one and three have portions of the spine leather coming free. The overall condition of the boards is very good and the interior pages are bright and in very good condition.
