Original production used prop toe tag used in the epic war film "The Thin Red Line" (1998) written and directed by Terrence Malick. An Adaptation of James Jones' autobiographical 1962 novel, focusing on the conflict at Guadalcanal during the second World War.
The Tag is for "Cpl. Fife", played by Adrian Brody.
Film was nominated for seven Academy Awards. Martin Scorsese ranked it as his second-favorite film of the 1990s. On At the Movies, Gene Siskel called it "the greatest contemporary war film I've seen".
