Octavo periodical runs 320pp. Everett's 20pp. essay addresses three primary objections to annexation: the ''want of Constitutional power'' to acquire Texas; respect for ''the supposed rights of Mexico''; and ''the great and difficult question of slavery.'' A fair copy, sans covers. Binding remains tight and text clean. An excellent example of annexation rhetoric.
