The Ten Commandments Ceremonial Collar Costume
When Cecil B. De Mille made his original silent version of "The Ten Commandments in 1923, he shot all the Egyptian sequences in the San Dunes of Southern California (many of his massive sets can still be uncovered beneath the dunes to this day!). When he remade the epic in 1958, he took his crew to Egypt to shoot many of the desert sequences in the original locations. Because of the massive number of extras in these scenes, most of the costumes were made in clothing factories in Cairo. This is an actual screen used man's ceremonial collar used in one of his infamous Exodus sequences. It includes the original tag from Cairo, with the name of the actor who wore it, "El Magri". (Collar is approx. 16.5"x16").
