Printed in the Golden Age of underground cartoonists, the early 1970s, each issue had full-color comic strips on the front and back covers. The interiors were devoted to local "revolutionary" information, Vietnam era protests and other happenings. There are tons of interesting pictures (some of which are nudes), odd tid bits from the times, marijuana and other drug references, anti-Nixon articles, and a calender of events contained in a smaller insert. The inserts measure 12" x 15" while the paper itself measures approximately 15" x 23". Because of this large size, the paper was folded in half to ease distribution and all of these copies have that fold. Every single issue here contains notable strips, many of which have never been printed anywhere else, from such notables as Gilbert Sheldon, Ted Richard, Trina Robbins, Bobby London, Bill Griffin, Larry Todd, Art Spiegelman, Jay Lynch, and Jim Osborne. Each newspaper has some yellowing of the edges, but the colors are quite bright and the pages supple. Feel the love! <B>Estimate: $500-up</B> </FONT></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE><BR><!--<a name="PricesRealized"></a> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" bgcolor="#000000"> <tr> <td width="100%"> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="3"> <tr> <td width="100%" bgcolor="#79735C"> <a name="PR"> <font face="arial" size="3" color="#FFFFFF"> <b>Previous Prices from Heritage Auctions</b> </td> </tr> <tr> <td bgcolor="#F6F6ED"> No Prior Data Recorded </td> </tr> <tr> <td bgcolor="#FFFFFF"> <font face="arial" size="1""> PLEASE NOTE: All prices realized reflect the final hammer price PLUS the buyer's premium in auctions that charge a buyer's premium.
