Included in this lot is an original copy of “The Sunday Missoulian” from April 30th, 1922. The front page displays an original Charles M. Russell drawing. Charles Marion Russell (March 19, 1864 – October 24, 1926), also known as C. M. Russell, Charlie Russell, and "Kid" Russell, was an artist of the Old American West. Russell created more than 2,000 paintings of cowboys, Indians, and landscapes set in the Western United States and in Alberta, Canada, as well as bronze sculptures. Known as 'the cowboy artist', Russell was also a storyteller and author. This sketch shows a large herd of buffalo grazing in a field with one lone wolf circling around them. The name of the drawing is "Back-Trailing on the Old Frontiers". This newspaper is in great condition for its age, showing some rips at the top of the pages. The paper measures 17 1/2" by 22 1/2".
