Scarce very early original handbill-postcard for a series of three concerts at the Grande Ballroom in Detroit, Michigan, between September 20 and 22, 1968, which lists The Amboy Dukes and McKenna Mendelson Mainline on Friday the 20th; MC5 and The Up on Saturday the 21st; and Rodney Knight and The Psychedelic Stooges on Sunday the 22nd. The handbill features terrific artwork of a small winged creature sitting on a grinning head in profile. In fine condition, with old tape stains on the back. The Stooges were originally billed as The Psychedelic Stooges for roughly one year, from the summer of 1967 until around November 1968. The band played as the Stooges until July 15, 1972, when the group changed their name to Iggy and the Stooges for a show at the Scala venue in London. A decidedly rare and early Stooges handbill.
