The Son of Dr. Jekyll (Columbia, 1951). Standee (32.5" X 59"). Edward Jekyll (Louis Hayward), the son of the infamous Dr. Henry Jekyll, is determined to prove that his father was a respectable scientist and not the crazed monster that the rest of the world believes him to have been. Mr. Hyde's frightening mien is a large part of this magnificent Standee. Standees from this period are quite rare, since they just weren't kept by the theaters. This one has edge wear, light soiling and scuffs, and a couple of punches in the title. The corrugation from the cardboard shows through, in some places more than others. The image of Hayward in his two personas is a litho image that has been attached over the silkscreening of the rest of the poster. An unusual and rare piece from this 50s horror film. Fine-.
