Published by Richard B. Smith Inc., New York, 1930. First American edition, second state with “Bacardi Special Cocktail” (no errata) on page 25, and “Additional Cocktails” on pages 282-83. Hardbound in original Publisher’s pictorial metallic boards, black cloth spine titled in gilt, 7.75” x 5.25”, 286 [2] pages, decorated endpapers, colorfully illustrated throughout with jazz age artwork by Gilbert Rumbold. GOOD Condition: binding slightly shaken, shelf wear and rubbing to the boards, metallic foil has small edge and corner chips, cloth spine ends fraying, but overall the covers remain solid bright and clean, internally, a former owner’s penned gift initials on the front endpaper, one small penned notation on page 43, the lined blank leaves at the rear have two neat period recipes added in ink and offset lines from long gone clear tape which held a tipped-on recipe, a small penned number on the rear pastedown, a few hairline gutter cracks, otherwise the inner pages are tight, bright, very clean and unmarked.

Master Bartender Harry Craddock (British, 1876-1963) completely revolutionized the London drinking scene with his new America style cocktails at the Savoy Hotel.
