Folio [36.5 by 26.5 cm], contemporary decorative boards. Finely engraved title within a decorative border; 68 engraved plates depicting 1448 Roman gold coins. Later (1766-dated) finely engraved portrait of the author by Littret bound in as frontispiece. Both boards neatly detached, with spine covering lacking. Contents very good or better. No text was ever published, making this the only published record of the notable collection of Louis XV. Quite scarce: the first copy we have offered in a decade. Brunet 29715. Dekesel C135.
