Territorial. The Rocky Mountain Directory and Colorado Gazetteer, For 1871, Comprising a brief history of Colorado, and a condensed but comprehensive account of her Mining, Agricultural, Commercial and Manufacturing Interests, Climatology, Inhabitants, Advantages and Industries, together with a complete and accurate Directory of Denver, Golden City, Black Hawk, Central City, Nevada, Idaho, Georgetown, Boulder, Greeley, Colorado City, Pueblo, Trinidad, etc. First Year of Publication. S.S. Wallihan & Company, Compilers and Publishers, Denver. 1870. It has been rebound, and is missing the advertisements that came before the title page. Stamp on title page indicates this was a copy from the Chicago Public Library in 1884. First 250 pages are a wonderful source of information about all aspects of the territory at that point. The directories for each city start by person's name, with a business directory later organized by category. Before each city directory, there is a nice history and description of the place. Tons of full page ads for Colorado businesses scattered throughout. This is an essential resource for the Colorado history buff. Condition: In addition to previous issues mentioned, some of the pages have been torn along the edges and repaired. Toning and foxing.
