The Revenge Rider (Columbia, 1935). One Sheet (27" X 41"). Tim McCoy, according to the film's tagline, rides for one reason -- "Riding his way to vengeance! Shooting his way to romance!" The vengeance he seeks is, indeed, for a crime most heinous: another man shipping rustled cattle under his ranch's brand. Among tragic crimes, it doesn't quite rank up there with killing his family or burning his home, or even forgetting to bring a dish to a potluck, but McCoy's sensitive about his cattle. He's also a bit confused on civilized courtship if he's shooting his way to romance, but the poster shows that the couple are like-minded about avenging his cattle's honor, so maybe the happy couple will work out. Most of McCoy's posters featured only portraits of him, so this poster's rare quality lies in its depiction of action from the film. Slight fold separation aside, the poster looks fantastic. Very Fine +.
