Pieter Six van Hilligom of Amsterdam (1824-1899), was one of the nineteenth century’s leading specialists in Greek coins. ... His detailed studies concentrated on coins with Phoenician, Aramaic, Cypriot, Lycian, and Pamphylian legends; even taking into account his more audacious speculations one cannot help but admire the depth and scope of the author’s knowledge” (Babelon, Ancient Numismatics and Its History, page 171).
