Featured in this lot is Lewis Wallace's 1893 famous work "The Prince of India Or Why Constantinople Fell: Volumes I & II". This two volume hardback set novel was published by Harper & Brothers. It is a first edition copy. Lewis Wallace (April 10, 1827 – February 15, 1905) was an American lawyer, Union general in the American Civil War, governor of the New Mexico Territory, politician, diplomat, and author from Indiana. This particular novel details the famous "wandering Jew" and his aid in bringing down the city of Constantinople. Both of these volumes are in good condition for age and measure 7" x 5".
