(Euro Disneyland, 1992-93) The original line drawing for the "Discovery Mountain" attraction poster. As first conceived, Discovery Mountain was intended to be a massive addition to Disneyland Paris after opening - a huge structure in Discoveryland containing a roller coaster, railroad station, Nautlius submarine restaurant, and more. After the Park’s softer-than-expected opening, it was greatly scaled down, becoming essentially just a Jules Verne-themed Space Mountain roller coaster. Imagineer Tim Delaney designed this poster for the Discovery Mountain attraction, which stayed nearly identical for the final poster realized as, once again, Space Mountain. Included here are Delaney’s original line drawing of the poster in felt tip on vellum paper, and a copy made with notations on the poster’s text in red. The drawing includes a 10.5" x 5" photocopy of the mechanically drawn logo for the attraction taped in the middle. Each measuring 14.5" x 20", the drawing and copy are in good condition, with typical wear from production use, including folds and creases. Also included are printouts of Delaney’s proposed mural for Tomorrowland, and a poster celebrating Space Mountain’s 50th anniversary.
