"Meet me in St. Louis, Louis. Meet me at the Fair. Don't tell me the lights are brighter any place but there." This book is the official chronicle of a world's fair that still staggers the imagination. Written by John Wesley Hanson for the officials of the St. Louis Fair, held in St. Louis, Mo. in 1904. Its 496 pages contain numerous photos of the magnificent buildings, display and interesting people on exhibit there. The copy is often politically incorrect, but common to the times. The cover is a blue nubby thick paper cover over boards. There are several moth holes. The corners show mild wear and the back cover has two worn spots. On the front cover, the gold embossed lettering is in good shape. The lettering on the spine is pretty faded. I could not find any damage to the interior pages. The sale of this item will benefit our local Hospice. They have a booth here in our mall where they sell the finer things that people donate to them.
