Original April 15, 1912, library edition issue of The Evening Post, New York, 17 x 22.5, 14 pages. An erroneous headline announces: “Titanic Hit Berg: All Safe on Board, and She May Not Sink.” Another predicts financial losses for the International Mercantile Marine Company: “Big Loss Certain: Even With Titanic Safe, Owners Hard Hit.” Nearly the entire front page is filled with columns describing the event—though, at the time, unaware of the tragic outcomes. In very good condition, with repaired partial edge separations to central horizontal fold, overall toning, and expected brittleness from age.
