<B><I>The National Aegis</B></I></B></I><B> of Worcester, Massachusetts of March 2, 1803,</B></I> Volume II, Number 66 - containing the "President's Jefferson Message". Jefferson spoke of three subjects, "The<I> Discriminating Duties, the War with Tripoli,</B></I> and the situation in <I>Louisiana</B></I>." Four pages in very good condition. 12" x 18.5". <I>The National Aegis</B></I> was established in Worcester in 1801 by, among others, Levi Lincoln, as the organ of Thomas Jefferson, on his accession to the Presidency. It was to counter <I>The Massachusetts Spy,</B></I> that supported the John Adams in the controversy between the "Federal" and the "Republican" parties.
