Lot of 10 tokens and bottles from The Mint Saloon. All slugs marked G.W. SPENCER THE MINT HOLLISTER, CAL. 1) Half pint shoo-fly clear glass, with footed base (one small chip) and un-ground screw top. Needs cleaning. 2) Half pint clear picnic style, with single collar, neatly applied un-ground top. Air vented at each shoulder and on a footed base (minute chip), this piece could use cleaning but in generally nice condition. 3) Pint picnic in clear glass, footed base and single collar, with neatly applied top. Piece could use a good cleaning. 4,5,6,7) Two "Good for Five Cents in Trade" and two "Good for 10 Cents in Trade" tokens for The Mint. Two are hole punched. All are in very good condition. The Mint, according to the 1899 census, was operated by G.W. Spencer. 8) Nice bonus! An apothecary bottle from Hiram Pond, a Hollister Pharmacist. Pond was born in New York in 1856 and had his druggist business in Hollister in 1892, according to the census report [Ref: Ancestry.com]. 9 & 10) Also included are two "Good for 10 Cents in Trade" tokens, one copper, one aluminum, from Pond, the Druggist. Both pieces are in very good condition. Pairings of matching flasks and tokens are rare, and a great opportunity to round out your collections of flasks and tokens! - Feisel Collection -59300
