The Mask of Fu Manchu (MGM, 1932). Still (10 X 1
The Mask of Fu Manchu (MGM, 1932). Still (10" X 13"). In 1932 Boris Karloff took leave of Universal and made this adaptation of the Sax Rohmer stories at MGM Studios. The film deals with the diabolical doctor wanting to rid the world of the white race and his torture devices are what the whole film revolves around. Kenneth Strickfaden, the genius behind the electrical effects in "Frankenstein," came up with most of the electrical devices seen in the film, some of which are seen in this great photo. The photo is inevitably the work of Clarence Bull, as he was the photographer on the film, but his stamp is not seen on this beautiful, original double weight photo. Fine/Very Fine.
