The Maltese Falcon (Warner Brothers, 1941). Lobby Card (11" X 14"). Humphrey Bogart, as the quintessential film noir detective Sam Spade, finds a way to manipulate any situation to get the truth. In Dashiell Hammett's masterpiece of deception, greed and double cross, the film was the perfect vehicle for Bogart to showcase his understated talents. Whether it's consoling the girl, fast-talking his way out of a jam, or punching out a gunsel, Bogart will always be the best. It is hard to imagine a film this good could be made by a first time director, until you realize the director was John Huston. This lobby card has some small clean border tears, and pinholes in the corners (several additional pinholes in the upper left border). There is a very light crease line on the top border going into the credits, and a few minor surface marks. Tremendous paper from what is considered one of the greatest films ever made. Very Fine+.
