For your consideration is a First Edition of "The Life of David Crockett: The Original Humorist and Irrepressible Backwoodsman", published by Grosset & Dunlap, New York and copyright by E. A. Brainerd, 1902. This is an autobiography with illustrations and introduction by G. Mercer Adam, to which is added an account of Crockett?s glorious death at the Alamo while fighting in defense of Texan independence. "Davy" Crockett was an American folk hero, frontiersman, soldier, and politician. He is often referred to in popular culture as the "King of the Wild Frontier". He represented Tennessee in the U.S. House of Representatives and served in the Texas Revolution. The red cloth bound stamped illustrated hardcover is in good condition overall, slight scuffing to edges, loose spine, stain on rear cover. Intact top edge painted pages exhibit age tanning, stain at bottom edge at spine, no other marring observed. Measures approximately 5.5"W x 8.25"L x 1.5"D, weight is 1lb, 2oz.
