The Last Starfighter Storyboards
There is perhaps no more beloved cult classic Science Fiction feature as "The Last Starfighter" (1984), the story of a small town trailer park boy who spends most of his time playing a video game in the laundry room, only to find after he reaches the top level, that it's actually a recruiting tool for an alien planet that desperately is searching for a gunner to defend them against their enemy planet! With the "Music Man's" Robert Preston as the alien assigned to retrieve him and take him into space! The budget was modest but the effects by Digital Productions were equal to anything created at the "big boy" shops. During the era of this production, storyboards were originally drawn, and then literally “cut and pasted” by the storyboard artist, and then Xerox copies are sent to all departments who then use them for their specific duties (i.e. special effects, budgeting, art direction, etc.).

In this package, there are five original “cut and paste” storyboards of scene x407A, x148, x224B, x129, x224B. These are all SFX boards for specific effect generating. Most of these “cut and paste” originals have felt tip pen writing, which ”bleeds” to the back of the page (thus proving they are original and not copies), and the actual drawings were created on a separate template of paper, which was then literally cut out, and then placed into a “window” created on the page and taped from behind. Again, you can see the full bleed of the colors from the drawings on the back of each cut-out page, as well as the original tape, which again proves they are originals and not copies. There was also some text that was typed, using a manual typewriter, which is also the original type. A simple “feel test” will show that these pages have been “cut and pasted”. Included in this package are three over size bonus pages, which are the actual timing sheets for star-ship effects. These three are rare, and are copies of the original timing sheets. All this from 1984 cult classic “The Last Starfighter”.
(Pages are between approx. 8"x11" and approx. 14"x11"). Comes with a COA.
