British born Mark King (1931-2014) was one of America’s favorite artists during the 1970-80’s and 90’s when he and others like LeRoy Neiman burst the envelope and began combining traditional impressionist values and techniques to subjects like golf , horseracing and wild animals . This Polo painting depicts the excitement and the power King could capture as these Polo players and ponies race each other toward the finish of the final Chukkah ( or period) in the match. A 36x48”original acrylic on canvas, the painting is signed in King’s typical flourish of large lettering. Image size 36x48" UF. Ship weight approx. 40 lbs.
