The King And I Yul Brynner Signed Original Broadway Playbill Program
The true original, Yul Brynner, who could play everything from a leader of heroic outlaws in the American West, to the head of the Cossacks, is of course best known for his iconic role as King Mongkut of Siam in the classic Broadway musical "The King and I". He played it over 4,600 times throughout his career, and of course recreated the role for the award winning movie (in which won the Oscar for Best Actor). For the original stage role he shaved his head, and kept it shaved for the rest of his life, being one of the first bald sex symbols in Hollywood. This is an extremely rare original cover of the actual Playbill program at the St. James Theater on Broadway in New York City where "The King and I' premiered on March 29th, 1951. It is personally autographed by the great one himself: Yul Brynner. Comes with a COA. Playbill is approx 6"x8.5", and the custom matted frame is 10.5"x13". There is a slight tear on the upper left hand corner of the Playbill cover.
