The Italian Job (Paramount, 1969). Australian Daybill ( The Italian Job (Paramount, 1969).
The Italian Job (Paramount, 1969). Australian Daybill (13" X 30"). In Noel Coward's final film role he plays the eccentric Mr. Bridger, a crime boss to whom Michael Caine's Charlie Croker turns for help with "The Italian Job." This robbery involves hijacking Chinese gold bullion in Italy from under the watchful eyes of the Italian Police and the Mafia, so Bridger provides Croker with a quirky group of Britain's most infamous criminals -- bank robbers, computer hackers, getaway drivers and Benny Hill. When he took the role, Coward was in the middle of his reinvention from "bright young thing" to British pop icon, which would peak a year later, in 1970, with his knighthood. This Australian daybill is in Near Mint condition, with only pinholes in the corners. The art mimics the design of the Italian one sheet, but instead of action photos taken from the film, this daybill uses the more evocative stone lithography. Near Mint-.
