But, as the world was to learn, with Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, the highly improbable was possible! Without any try-out (even Spidey had his one-shot try-out in <B>Amazing Fantasy</B></I>), the Hulk burst onto the scene with his own comic book title. He lasted all of six issues before being relegated to high profile guest appearances in other Marvel titles, then gaining co-starring status in <B>Tales to Astonish</B></I>. By 1968, of course, the Monster had his own title again, and became one of the most enduringly popular Marvel characters of all. Jack Kirby provided one of his most memorable covers for this premiere issue, and handled the interior art as well. One of the harder Marvel Age keys to find in high-grade, evidenced by CGC, whose latest census shows just one unrestored copy grading as high as NM 9.4. Our offering comes with a certificate of authenticity for The Edenwald Collection. And this beauty has white pages! Let the bidding begin! Overstreet 2003 VF 8.0 value = $6,950; VF/NM 9.0 value = $12,975. <B>Estimate: $24,000-up</B> </FONT></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE><BR><!--<a name="PricesRealized"></a> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" bgcolor="#000000"> <tr> <td width="100%"> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="3"> <tr> <td width="100%" bgcolor="#79735C"> <a name="PR"> <font face="arial" size="3" color="#FFFFFF"> <b>Previous Prices from Heritage Auctions</b> </td> </tr> <tr> <td bgcolor="#F6F6ED"> No Prior Data Recorded </td> </tr> <tr> <td bgcolor="#FFFFFF"> <font face="arial" size="1""> PLEASE NOTE: All prices realized reflect the final hammer price PLUS the buyer's premium in auctions that charge a buyer's premium. On some occasions eBay Live bid software or the Internet may not be able to keep up with the pace of the auction. We recommend placing a realistic absentee bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Occasionally the auctioneer may eliminate or reject an eBay Live bid, and the auctioneer may also reopen a lot after the close of the eBay live bidding (usually because we missed an audience bid), and may reject your bid even if it shows you as the winning bidder. By bidding via eBay Live, you agree that Heritage may award the lot to another bidder at its sole discretion under the circumstances described above or any other reasonable circumstances. Since eBay bids are not shown to us until we open the lot on the floor, we treat those bids just like floor bids. In most cases the floor responds before the eBay bid is presented to us, due to Internet lag time, so for consistency we have made it a policy that floor bids are always considered first over tie eBay live bids. Also please note that all Heritage lots purchased through eBay Live carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions before you bid. </span></font></tr></table></td></tr></table>
