In good condition!! Paper covered hardback. The front cover has paper label identifying title and author with illustration of sailing ship. Spine has paper label with title and author. I do not know if this is original to the book or added.



Pages and binding are tight. The pages are free from any markings and are very clean.



I am listing this book and a large collection of books by noted authors from the estate of John and Jean Siddall. Many of the books are author inscribed. John Siddall was the editor of "The American Magazine" in the mid to late 20's. A little information about John Siddall and "The American Magazine".



In June of 1906, muckraking journalists Ray Stannard Baker, Lincoln Steffens, and Ida M. Tarbell left "McClure's Magazine" to help create "American Magazine". Ray Stannard Baker contributed articles under the pseudynom David Grayson. Under John S. Phillips, who served as editor until 1915, the monthly magazine departed somewhat from the muckraking style and focused on human interest stories, social issues, and fiction. Initially published by his Phillips Publishing Company of Springfield, Ohio, it later was taken over by Crowell Publishing ...
