<B>The Green Pastures (Warner Brothers, 1936).</B></I> Title Lobby Card (11" X 14"). This film started its life as a series of rather prejudiced short stories written by a white author in the supposed idiom of rural blacks. Somehow, through it's incarnation as a stage play and on to the filmed version, it gained substance and dignity that were not present in the original stories. A good deal of that gravitas comes from the actors, including Rex Ingram as De Lawd, Eddie Anderson as Noah, Frank Wilson as Moses and Oscar Polk as Gabriel. This linen stock card card has pin holes in the borders, light edge wear with rounded corners and a small chip in the bottom border. There is also a bit of wrinkling, corner creasing and minor scuffing. A small tear in the bottom border has been mended with cloth tape on the reverse. The toning is common to linen stock Warner Brother cards of this era.
