William A. Paine. DS. 1pp. 11 1/4" x 8". Michigan. 1922. A "Lake Copper Company" stock certificate. Vignette of female allegorical figure atop marble with workers in background.signed by William Paine as president. Investment banker. Paine worked as a clerk in the Boston bank house of Blackstone National Bank from 1873-1880 becoming head of the firm in 1880. He was a Co-Founder of one of America’s most well known investment banking and brokerage houses. Stamp and punch cancelled, including a star punch hole through Paine's signature. It is in fine condition overall.
