The Flintstones Drawing Speak Up Original Animation Cel
The show is set in the Stone Age town of Bedrock. (In some of the earlier episodes, it was also referred to as "Rockville"). The Flintstones was about a working-class Stone Age man's life with his family and his next-door neighbor and best friend. The show's * continuing popularity rested heavily on its juxtaposition of modern everyday concerns in the Stone Age setting. In this fantasy version of the past, dinosaurs, saber-toothed tigers, woolly mammoths, and other long-extinct animals co-exist with cavemen. Like * their mid-20th century peers, these cavemen listen to records, live in split-level homes, and eat out at restaurants, yet their technology is made entirely from pre-industrial materials and largely powered through the use of various animals. For example, the * cars are made out of stone, wood, and animal skins, and powered by the passengers' feet. * * * Ehhhh, what's that you say? I can't understand you... * * * * * Original Animation Cel and Drawing * * Original "rough" animation drawing, in black pencil with the notations in black * * Overall size is a 12-field drawing that is 10 1/2" × 12 1/2" * Overall Size of Cel: 10 1/2" x 12 1/2"Excellent Condition * * * This is an original hand-painted cel used in the production of an episode of "The Flintstones." When individually photographed and projected in rapid succession, the images * appear to move. * * To create production cels, the original animator's drawing is transferred onto an acetate cel (by hand-inking and/or photo copying). The cel is then hand-painted on the reverse side. The background accompanying this set-up is a reproduction background. * * * * * The drawing and cel are ready to be matted and framed.
