The Flash #105 (DC, 1959) CGC FN/VF 7.0 Off-white to white pages. There were several key DC Silver Age issues in the late '50s and early '60s, and not many bigger than this. The Flash's appearances in Showcase are generally considered the kickoff of the Silver Age. After the Scarlet Speedster's trial in that title, his own self-titled book was launched. The numbering picked up where the Golden Age Flash's title had ended in 1949. Fittingly, Carmine Infantino, who had been the Flash's regular artist in the late 1940s, was tapped for the Silver Age version, and the consummate DC master continued with the title for most of the next 25 years. The origin of the Flash is retold, and villain The Mirror Master is introduced here. This pretty copy looks much better than the CGC grade -- one has to look closely to determine why it's not a VF 8.0 or better. Overstreet 2006 FN 6.0 value = $1,278; VF 8.0 value = $3,898. CGC census 9/06: 7 in 7.0, 13 higher.

Shipping: Slabbed Comic (view shipping information)
