[Raymond, Wayte, and James Macallister] Morgenthau & Co. RARE UNITED STATES AND FOREIGN GOLD COINS. A NEW YORK COLLECTION. New York, April 12, 1939. 8vo, original printed card covers. 26 pages; 589 lots. Hand-priced in ink and pencil, with running tallies calculated in some margins. Integral bidsheet removed, causing first leaf to be loose. Original prices realized list laid in. Very good or better. Also laid in are accounting materials for the sale, including: typewritten copy of consignment listing from C.E. Green; two separate groups of Morgenthau invoices with adding machine tape consignments to and purchases made in this sale; a handwritten settlement of accounts on James G. Macallister letterhead; a handwritten settlement of accounts written on a single sheet of legal pad paper. Materials generally fine. The sale included some significant U.S. gold coins. The accounting mostly covers this sale, but the final legal-pad settlement includes material consigned to and purchased from the firm's next two sales (May 3 and June 7, 1939).
