This is an ultra rare, all original and unaltered 1906 DWM "Russian" contract Luger pistol. This is probably the most highly sought after, early commercial contract Luger that was ever produced by DWM. There were exactly 1,000 of these pistols manufactured for the Czar of Russia, all with three digit serial numbers, with only a handful of original examples having ever been discovered outside of Russia. This beautiful Luger is all original and in near new condition, and has the distinctive crossed "Mosin Nagant" rifles over the chamber with the DWM marked toggle. It has the correct Cyrillic markings on the safety and extractor. It has the early features such as the 1906 style grip safety and no stock lug. These pistols have no firing or acceptance proofs and are marked with the full serial number (567) on the front of the frame and underside of the barrel, with the last two digits (67) on the various small parts (in the commercial style) to include the back side of each grip panel. This beautiful Luger is complete with an original nickel plated, wood base commercial magazine. The bottom of the wood base is correctly marked in script, "Cal 9m/m".
BBL: 4 inch round
Stock:
Gauge: 9 mm
Finish: blue
Grips: walnut
Serial Number: 567
Condition: Excellent plus. Overall the pistol retains 99% original blue finish. The small components retain 97% original straw colors with some slight thinning on thumb safety, trigger and lock bolt. The grips are also excellent with sharp checkering with a beautiful wood grain. The magazine is excellent with a few minor nicks on wood base. This exceptional Luger has all matching numbers, except the magazine as noted above. The mechanics are crisp. Overall an exceptional Luger for any model, but especially rare for the Russian Contract model. Certainly for the super advance, discriminating Luger collector. This is the finest example of a Russian contract Luger pistol in the world for sale today.
