The papers date between May 1868 and October 1869 and the correspondents include George Cadwalader, John Cadwalder, William Rawle, Major Forbes, Phillip A. Haurott, and others and concern the estate of Granville John Penn as well as Thomas Gordon Penn. An important archive chronicling the complex relationship between the Penn family, most of whom resided in England, and their remaining land holdings in Pennsylvania.
