Presented here is an original U.S. 7" vinyl single from The Easybeats, released on United Artists Records in 1966 under catalog number UA 50,106. The A-side features the band’s international breakthrough hit “Friday On My Mind,” written by George Young and Harry Vanda and produced by Shel Talmy. This track became a defining anthem of the 1960s, reaching the Top 10 in multiple countries and establishing The Easybeats as one of Australia’s most successful exports. The B-side, “Made My Bed: Gonna Lie In It,” was written by Stevie Wright and showcases the band’s raw rock energy. Housed in its original United Artists company sleeve, this single represents a landmark release in rock history, with George Young later going on to co-write and produce for AC/DC alongside Harry Vanda. A key piece linking the early foundations of Australian rock with the global success that would follow.
