Dust jacket is fair with some wear, small tears, paper loss, soiling, and staining. <BR><BR>Frederick Edwin Smith (1872-1930), 1st Earl of Birkenhead, was a British Conservative statesman, attorney, and close friend of Sir Winston Churchill. Smith wrote <I>The World in 2030 </B></I>during the final year of his life. He begins his preface, "It is the purpose of the Essays which follow to attempt a series of speculative predictions dealing with the possible development of the world during the next hundred years."
