Very desirable collection relating to Jim Henson's 1982 fantasy film The Dark Crystal, highlighted by a 'Dark Crystal' Christmas card bearing a color image of the Gelflings Jen and Kira, measures 9.75 x 7 open, signed inside in black felt tip by Jim Henson, Frank Oz, and producer Gary Kurtz, and in blue ballpoint by associate producer Bruce Sharman.

Also included: a 27-page shooting schedule issued April 8, 1981, based on "4th Draft Script," marked "Bob" at the top, with inside annotated in red and blue ink; a two-page call sheet, No. 92, for August 27, 1981, with information relevant to “Art Dept/SFX” and “Dark Crystal Workshops”; a four-page script revision for scenes 39-41, dated June 19, 1981, marked “Bob Payne,” with scenes relating to the Garthim attack at the pod village; a two-page call sheet for “Weekend Rehearsals,” for May 2 and 3, 1981; a call sheet for “Model Unit,” No. 40, June 15, 1981, with sets listed as “Mystic Cave” and “Sky”; a revised two-page casting list, dated March 26, 1981; a six-page cast list, issued April 15, 1981, marked “Bob Payne”; a tri-fold Universal City Studios cast and crew folder for ‘The Dark Crystal’; and an unsigned ‘Dark Crystal’ greeting card from Henson Associates, with front bearing a Rockwell-style image of a Pod Person. In overall fine condition.

Originates from the personal collection of Bob Payne, a longtime friend of Jim and Jane Henson who performed as part of the Pod people unit and as skekOk the Scroll-Keeper in The Dark Crystal. Classmates with Henson at Northwestern High School in Hyattsville, Maryland, Payne worked with the Hensons on their local Washington show, Sam and Friends, in addition to other early efforts. He also worked with famed puppeteer Bil Baird in the 1960s, and then joined Henson in New York as a puppet builder on projects that include Fraggle Rock, The Muppet Show, Muppet feature films, and The Dark Crystal, assisting in the construction of the Pod people and the slaves.
