The Council of War by John Rogers Bronze
"The Council of War" is the crowning achievement of famed American Civil War-era sculptor John Rogers.

This masterwork depicts President Abraham Lincoln, General Ulysses S. Grant and Secretary of War Edwin Stanton reviewing Grant's plans of operation for the Army of the Potomac. Rogers captures Stanton wiping his spectacles as Lincoln deeply contemplates the mapped plan and Grant looks on.

Rogers created three versions of this bronze piece. This version -- known as Type B -- was the most popular and sold for the highest amount when first cast in 1873. Today, it is widely prized as the bronze best depicting this moment in history.

This bronze stands a full 24" high and weighs 133 lbs. It boasts the deep, rich patina finish.
"The Council of War" is available in a limited edition of just 100. Each piece is individually numbered.
