Multi-volume group of essential reference books. The Copper Handbook, by Horace J. Stevens, comprises critical information about the world of copper. It illuminates its mining, its locations, its metallurgy, history, uses, statistics, and myriad other references. Not limited to the US and Canada, it touches on Africa, Europe, Mexico, Asia and Australia. Published by Houghton, these green hardcover tomes contain incredible information. The TOC lists (among others) the Geology of Copper, a Glossary of Mining Terms, the Chemistry and Minerology of Copper, and many other intriguing titles. The volumes were published annually. Volume 1 is in fair condition, with spine damage and some loose pages. The remaining books are in good to very good condition, with some staining on the cover and fade on the spine for volume 6. All these volumes have wonderful period copper advertising at the back, called "The Copper Handbook Advertiser." Typically about 6"x9" in size, the thickness varies from volume to volume. The largest book is some 1116 pages. A true collectors set, worthy of your inspection.
