The Conqueror Original Costume Drawing
From truly the strangest of all John Wayne movies, an incredible memorabilia. Wayne was cast as Genghis Khan in "The Conqueror" (1956), but this infamous movie is more known for the tragic aftermath. Shot mostly in the Escalante Desert, St. George Utah, which had been a nuclear bomb test area for the United States army, It is believed that many of the cast and crew, including Mr. Wayne and actor-director Dick Powell and 91 other members of the cast and crew developed cancer and evidentially died from breathing the still radioactive dust during production. This has given this unusual movie a very unique place in Hollywood history. However one area of the production that always received raves was the exquisite costumes by Yvonne Wood. This is an original watercolor design drawing of John Wayne's main costume. It's a magnificent work of art. It's created on extra thick Studio Illustration Board, and comes in a protective plastic cover. (Approx. 18"x13")
