Biography
Alfred Aberdam (1894-1963) Polish/French painter. Born in 1894 in Lvov. In 1913 he moved to study at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. From 1917 he lived in Moscow and returned to Lvov in 1920. In 1921-1922 he studied at the Academy of Fine art in Cracow, and in 1922-1923 he studied in Berlin under Aleksander Archipenko. In 1923 he moved to Paris, where together with Zygmunt Menkes, Joachim Weingart and Leon Weissberg he created the Four Group. He became part of the Ecole de Paris. He exhibited in Autumn Salons in Paris, Galerie Zak and Bernheim-Jeune. He was a member of the Independent Artists Group. Solo exhibitions of his paintings were held in Paris, Lvov, London and Tel-Aviv.
